Mwerre Soap & Skin creates handcrafted Australian soap, bath and body products inspired by the colours, botanicals and stories of Country.
Donations & Community Support
At Mwerre Soap & Skin, giving back is part of who we are. As a small, Aboriginal-owned business, we support our community in the ways we genuinely can through donations and giveaways.
What We Can Offer
We support selected causes with small donations of our handcrafted, Australian-made products. These may include:
- Individual products or small gift packs for raffles, fundraisers and community events
- Small quantities of product for care packages or support programs
- Larger quantities of ‘seconds’ stock, from time to time, through our FREEBOX program (details below)
Every Mwerre product is made in small batches with Indigenous clay minerals, native botanicals and Australian ingredients.
What We’re Unable to Offer
Because we are a small artisan business producing handcrafted products, there are some requests we don’t have the capacity to provide in the form of donations:
- Cash donations or sponsorships — we are unable to provide financial contributions of any kind
- Large quantities of stock for events — though we may be able to help with a small quantity
- Retail stock — our small-batch production means we rarely hold excess firsts to allocate to donations
- Individuals/Businesses – we offer donations to not-for-profits or charitable organisations only. Please include your organisation details in your request,
Our Priority Causes
We receive more requests than we can support, so we give priority to causes close to our heart:
- Support for people experiencing homelessness
- Aboriginal Women’s groups and services supporting women’s wellbeing
- Fashion and health initiatives supporting skin conditions
- Remote area organisations
If your request relates to other activities, we may still consider it. However, due to the volume of requests we receive, we will only respond where we are able to offer support.
The FREEBOX Program
From time to time, we’re able to offer larger quantities of ‘seconds’ stock — soap bars that don’t meet our retail standards but are still great to use the cleanse the skin. Available ‘seconds’ stock is posted in our FREEBOX program below.
FREEBOXES provide free soap bars for community members in remote/regional communities. They are available to:
- Aboriginal-owned not-for-profits
- Registered charities, such as organisations registered with ORIC (the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations)
To be eligible for our FreeBox program you must:
- Apply as a not-for-profit or charitable organisation
- Join our mailing list – Join at the bottom of this page
- Follow us on Instagram and/or Facebook
- Send an email request to [email protected] explaining your event, the reason or purpose you are applying, the products you are interested in and how many (and noting if you do not have any preferences), include date you need the products by and the address the products need to be sent to.
Please Note: We are unable to follow up on incomplete applications if all the requested information is not included in the email request at the time of submission. Incomplete requests cannot be considered.
